Soccer ScorePad Tutorial - Defining Teams
In this section, we walk through all of the steps needed to define a team within Soccer ScorePad.
When you launch ScorePad for the first time, the Teams page will be empty.

To add a team, tap the “+” button at the top. This will add a new team to the list and take you to the Team Details page.

Next, add a player roster to the team. This step is only required if you want to be able to keep track of player-specific statistics such as minutes played, goals scored, etc. Let’s enter the roster for Arsenal. Tap on the Roster field. This will display the Team Roster page.

Now, tap on the “Add a player…” line to add a new player to the list. This will take you to the Player Detail page, where you will enter information describing the new player.

Tap on the Name field and type in the player’s name. The keyboard will automatically slide up from the bottom. When you’re done, tap the “return” key to hide the keyboard.

Similarly, tap on the Number field and type in the player’s jersey number. A numeric keyboard will automatically slide up from the bottom to allow you to do so. When you’re done, tap the “return” key to hide the keyboard.
Next, tap on the Position field. This will slide in the Position Selector page where you pick the position that the player plays.

If the position you want to assign to the player is not available in the list, simply tap on the text entry field and type in the name of the position. This new position will be added to the list of positions so that it will show up in the picker the next time you display the Position Selector page.
When you are finished defining the player’s position, tap the Done button at the top and you will be returned to the Player Detail page. Tap the Cancel button if you wish to return to the Player Detail page without making any change to the position.
Next, tap the Notes field on the Player Detail page. This will display the Player Notes page, allowing you to enter any textual information you like pertaining to the player. In this example, we enter the player’s birthplace. Tap the Done button when you are finished.

Your Player Detail page will now look like this:

You can also assign a photo to the player if you like. This can either be from your stored images, or you can use the camera (iPhone only) to take a photo. To take a photo of the player and add it, tap on the Camera button at the top right. To add a stored image, tap on the “Tap to Select Image” area of the Player Detail page. This will bring up the standard Photo Albums page.

Navigate to the image that you want to use for the player, then select it. You can then resize and position the image so that it appears the way you want it.

Press Choose when you are done, and you will be returned to the Player Detail page, which will now look like this:

Tap the Done button, to return to the Team Roster page, which will now look like this:

Repeat the above steps to add the remaining players to the roster.

If you want to delete a player, or re-order the list, tap the Edit button at the top. Your page will now look like this:

To delete a player from the list, tap the red button next to a player to reveal the Delete button for that player. Then tap the Delete button and the player will be removed from the list. Take care when doing so as there is no way to undo the deletion.
To re-order the list, tap and hold the “triple bar” symbol to the right of the player name, and drag it up or down the list until it is where you want it. Then release.

Tap the Done button when you are finished editing the list, then tap the Team Details button to return to the Team Details page.

Next, tap on the Notes field. The Team Notes page will be displayed, where you can enter any textual information you like about the team. When you’re finished, press the Done button to return to the Team Details page.

Now we are going to specify the jersey colors used by the team. Tap on Uniform Color 1 to start with. This will display the Jersey Color picker page.

As you tap on the color wheel at the bottom, the selected color will appear in the area above.

When you’re happy with the color you’ve selected, tap the Team Details button at the top to return to the Team Details page.

Repeat the above steps to define a second jersey color for the team.

Finally, tap the Teams button at the top to return to the Teams page, where you can repeat all of the above steps to add more teams.
