3-2-1 Blastoff Tutorial
This tutorial shows you how to enter your first event in 3-2-1 Blastoff!. We’ll count down to a trip to Sweden.
When you launch 3-2-1 Blastoff! after having first installed it, you will be presented with an empty event list page.

Adding a new event
To add the new event, simply tap the “Add” button in the navigation bar. A new event will be added, and the Event Editor page will be automatically displayed.

Editing event details
The Event Editor page presents you with a number of different fields that allow you to specify when your event will happen, and how you want 3-2-1 Blastoff! to handle the event.
The first thing you will want to do when setting up a new event is to give it a name. Tap on the “Event” line. A keyboard will slide up from the bottom of your screen. Enter text that describes the event, for example “Trip To Sweden”. This is the text that will be displayed in the Event List once you are finished defining the event. Tap “return” to hide the keyboard when you are done. You can also tap anywhere on the background of the display to hide the keyboard.

Next, tap on the “Notice” field. Enter the text that you would like 3-2-1 Blastoff to display when your event arrives. In our example, we entered the text “Time to Fly!”.

Now tap on the Date field. A date picker will slide up from the bottom of the screen to allow you to specify the event date.

Next, tap on the Time field. Use the time picker that slides up from the bottom of the screen to specify the exact time of day when your event will arrive. Often you will want to set this to midnight (12:00 AM) for events such as birthdays or anniversaries, but you can choose any time you like. In our example we selected 4:05 PM, the time that our plane is scheduled to take off.

Now, scroll the display down so that you can see the Colors section. Notice the three colors displayed. The first color, labeled 7+, is the background color that will be displayed for your event in the Event List up until your event is 1 week away. The “7+” label “7 or more days prior to the event”. Tap on that color. A color picker will slide up from the bottom. Choose whatever color you like by tapping on the color picker. In our example, we selected a dark yellow.

When you are happy with your color selection, tap on the color labeled “7″. The “7″ color is the color that the background will change to as soon as your event is 7 days away.
Next, tap on the color labeled “0″. This is the color that will be displayed when your event arrives.
In between 7 days and your event arrival, 3-2-1 Blastoff! will gradually change the color from the “7″ color to the “0″ color, so you will want to choose colors that blend nicely. The default colors are bright yellow at 7 days, and bright red at zero days.
When you are finished selecting your colors, tap on the background to make the color picker disappear, and scroll back up to the top.

The only thing left for you to do now is enable the event by sliding the On/Off slider to the On position.

Now tap the Save button at the top to save your event. When you do so, you will be returned to the Event List page where you will see your newly created event.

Notice that the background color is the 7+ color that you selected. As soon as the event is 7 days away, the “7″ color will be display. The following sequence of figures show you how the color will change over the final seven days.

When your event arrives, the list will display the notification text that you entered.

Re-ordering Events
Now let’s add another event, and see how to change the order of events.

To re-order your events, tap the “Edit” button in the navigation bar at the top. Re-order controls will appear at the right of each cell. They appear as three stacked grey lines.

Drag the cell by the re-order control to the position where you want it to be in the list, then let go.

When you are finished re-ordering your events, tap the “Done” button in the navigation bar at the top.
Deleting Events
To delete an event from your list, tap the Edit button. Red remove controls will be displayed to the left of each event. When you tap a remove control, a Delete button will appear to the right of the event.

Tap the delete button to delete the event from the list. If you change your mind before you tap the Delete button, you can tap the remove control again to make the Delete button go away.
When you are finished deleting events, tap the “Done” button in the navigation bar at the top.
